A Healthcare Program for Adults

What is CARES?

The Contra Costa CARES program started in December 2015. It's a healthcare program that provides preventative care, free of charge, at one of three local health centers (Lifelong Medical Care, Brighter Beginnings, and La Clinica de la Raza). The campaign focuses on expanding the enrollment in the CC CARES program of uninsured, undocumented residents of Contra Costa County, ages 26-49. This work is critical because undocumented residents continue to bear the brunt of the pandemic, particularly given the precarity of their economic circumstances and the racial inequities faced by the majority of the Latinx population.
